I am interested broadly in the mathematical differences between quantum and classical theories of information. A specific aspect of these differences can be studied by asking, which information-processing abilities two agents can have jointly, given that they cannot interact with each other. This question is related to the topic of Bell inequalities and non-local games, an active and fairly young area of research.

The mathematics of quantum theory is to a large extent that of linear algebra, analysis and operator algebra. Besides these fields, I very much like measure and probability theory, mathematical logic and axiomatic set theory.
