Quantum Lunch: Key Distillation

Speaker: Roberto Ferrara

Abstract: I will try to cover the basics, explaining the intuition behind classical key distillation, how this inspired the formalism for (quantum) key distillation in the presence of quantum adversary, and the equivalent quantum formalism for (quantum) key distillation where suddenly there is no quantum adversary. If there is time and interest i will present some new results that indicate that if the distillation must be mediated by an untrusted party (unstrusted but not malicious, as opposed to the adversary that is untrusted and malicious) then the problem collapses to entanglement distillation.
