Quantum Lunch: Introduction to fermionic observables

Abstract: I will give a brief overview of work by Smirnov and others on conformal invariance in the classical 2D Ising model, and say a few words about my own ongoing work on similar results for the 1D quantum (transverse-field) Ising model.
