Title:
Limit shapes in statistical mechanics
Abstract:
Limit shape phenomenon in statistical mechanics is similar to central limit theorems in probability theory. It describes the most probable state of the system in the thermodynamic limit. State that are close the limit shape are Gaussian distributed. Otherwise they are exponentially improbably. The main examples are dimer models and the 6-vertex model.
