Title: Correlation Energy of a Weakly Interacting Fermi Gas
Abstract:
Quantum correlations in many-body systems are notoriously difficult to describe mathematically. I will show how correlations in an interacting Fermi gas can be described as collective degrees of freedom emerging from bosonization of particle--hole excitations. This allows us to prove upper and, very recently, also lower bounds on corrections to the systems energy, verifying the predictions of the non-rigorous random phase approximation.
