Title: Fault-tolerant quantum computing with polar codes
Abstract: Introduced first in 2009 for classical systems and then generalized for quantum systems in 2012, polar codes are known for their excellent error correction performance under a fast decoding algorithm. In this talk I will present results from arxiv:2209.06673 and 2307.15226, where we study an approach to fault tolerant quantum computing based on quantum polar codes. In particular, we gave a fault-tolerant procedure to prepare logical states of quantum polar codes that encode one logical qubit.
